Work together to fight the disease! Welsh Open donate 1,000 euros for every 100 strokes

According to the official Weibo report of the World Taiwan Federation, the World Snooker Tour (WST) and the World Professional Billy and Snooker Association (WPBSA) decided to raise funds for patients with new-type pneumonia in China. Snooker Wales was held this week. Every time a single stroke breaks 100 in the Open, 1,000 pounds (approximately RMB 9013) will be given out.

The 2020 Snooker Welsh Open was held in Cardiff, Wales from February 10th to 16th. A total of 129 players participated. The Welsh Open is one of the oldest snooker events. During the last game, the players collectively contributed 81 single shots and broke 100.

WPBSA, the global management organization of WST and the snooker movement, will donate at least £50,000 (approximately RMB 450,652) to related organizations in China to provide medical assistance to the people who are affected by the new coronavirus.

WST Chairman Barry Hearn and WPBSA Chairman Jason Ferguson said: “We care about every patient with new pneumonia in China and the people affected by the epidemic. Many of them are our close friends, like-minded colleagues and A partner in the same boat. Through holding multiple events in China year after year, we have fallen in love with the land of China and have established many successful and close contacts. The epidemic at this stage has made it difficult for all affected people. We must do our best to help and support the Chinese people. In this difficult period, we hope to encourage every patient to remain courageous and continue to face it courageously and actively!”
