At around 23:30 on August 12, 2015, an explosion occurred in the dangerous goods warehouse of Ruihai International Logistics Co., Ltd. in the Tianjin Dongjiang Free Trade Port Zone in Tanggu Development Zone, Binhai New District, Tianjin. As of 16:00 on August 13, the explosion caused 44 deaths, including 12 fire officers and soldiers, and hospitalized 521 people, including 52 severely injured.
